BEGINNER

ROC/POP DRUM KIT

This is a drum course for complete beginners. We start with teaching you how to choose your first drum kit, how to set it up and tune it, which drum stick and grip is right for you.Then we learn the basic grooves and fills and look at some subgenres such as funk and soul. You will also learn the fundamentals such as how to read drum kit notation, basic music theory, how to keep time, etc. Whether you want to stay with rock and pop, or have the intention to branch out to explore other styles like jazz and Latin later on, this course will give a solid foundation to do so.

INTERMEDIATE

ROCK/POP DRUM KIT

The intermediate drum course will continue what we’ve learned in the beginners course. We’ve learned simple rock and pop grooves and how to vary the bass and snare in these simple grooves. Now we will be looking at how to articulate each note to with more details, such as rimshots and cross stick, to make your groove sound fatter and bigger, also we will be studying sub-genres like reggae, punk rock, ballad and mambo. We will also cover odd time signatures like ⅝, ⅞ and more.

INTRODUCTION

LATIN DRUMMING

This course is perfect for anybody who wants to broaden their musical horizons and become a more rounded drummer, or for anyone who might want to pursue Latin music more deeply in the future. By the end of the course students will be able to play a variety of Latin styles as well as understanding their history and identifying the key components that make up the style. If you want to increase your drumming vocabulary to include more than just rock, pop, funk, hip hop, reggae etc. then this is the course for you.

RECORDING YOURSELF

In this course you will learn strategies for recording yourself so that you can monitor your drumming practice on your own. It will help you understand the common pitfalls of practicing on your own, how to identify areas of your drumming that need improvement and help prepare you for when you begin playing in front of others.
